Character History: Act 1, canon point is before the protagonist finds Sayori on Monday

Character Personality: Upon first interaction with Yuri, people will find her to be shy, quiet, and awkward. She's very self-conscious, leading to her questioning herself and preferring to think her sentences through before saying them. She's emotionally sensitive, which leads to her having a nuanced approach to literature, but also leaves her to be susceptible to being socially overwhelmed at times. She enjoys nature and sometimes secluides herself in peaceful locations on irder to clear her head. She believes herself to have weird hobbies, so as an attempt to not push away others, adopts that meek personality, wanting to be seen more as sophisticated and refined so she can be liked instead of made fun of or weird.

Despite all of this, timid isn't everything Yuri is. She becomes more open and assertive when talking about things she enjoys, such as books with complex worlds and books with a deep psychological edge. Furthermore, she has gotten into reading horror literature. She enjoys the aspect of being taken into another world, if only briefly. She also has a hobby of collecting ornate knives, enjoying the craftmanship of transforming a simple tool into a personal work of art. Unfortunately, the horror and knives makes Yuri think she comes across as weird.

Because Yuri adopts a refined and sophisticated manner when talking, she can unfortunately come across as slightly judgemental and possibly patronizing. She has a somewhat narrow view of how poetry and literature should be written and when her passion is attacked, she will try her best to explain away how she is correct in things, sometimes inadvertantly causing her to argue with her friends or say things which may come off as cruel without thinking. Even though she's used to people disliking her, she disliked pity and wishes to be treated as a normal person.

But even when not discussing things she's passionate about, there are times where she can be seen as brazen or even intense, which can be offputting to some. She can say things that can be perceived as cruel, even if it's just a light teasing. Of course, she catches onto that and timidly apologizes. She can also be a bit of a sneak, seeing as she had once bought wine into school for everyone to try. If there's a situation in which she wants to try and impress someone, despite her timidness, she'll try her luck and go for it.

Is your character down for murder? This is Act 1 Yuri. This is a hard no unless there's some extreme situation that pushes her into it.
